In Stores Now: Keim Lumber
In Charm Ohio, a mask-making mission gets national attention.
When a Cleveland hospital put out a distress call for thousands of masks, a lumberyard in Amish country helped answer that call.
An article tells the story of Charm, Ohio-base Keim Lumber’s involvement in a successful effort to sew 12,000 masks in two days. One of the key organizers of the mission was Keim Lumber’s Abe Troyer, director of sales, and a leader in the Amish community. Troyer arranged for 60 seamstresses to begin work almost immediately. “If there is a need, people just show up,” he told the newspaper.
The company, a member of the Do it Best co-op, also provided logistics and delivery support for the mask mission.
It wasn’t the first time for Keim Lumber to aid in the battle against the coronavirus outbreak. The pro dealer had previously produced dividers for field hospitals in New York.
